With so many options to choose between when designing your perfect fitted wardrobe, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But don’t worry – our team is here to help! Let’s start with the basics of your new wardrobe design. Should you opt for sliding doors or hinged doors?
Sliding Wardrobe Doors
The big advantage of sliding doors is that they save you space. This is especially convenient in smaller bedrooms. Because the doors won’t be opening out into your room, they can be opened without blocking your space or the view out of our window.
Sliding doors are generally easier to install in more regular shaped rooms. Their tracks require a wide, tall space, so it’s not always possible to install them in converted attic spaces or other rooms with steeply sloping ceilings.
We’ve all experienced the ‘stuck’ sliding door phenomenon – usually from a DIY job that’s gone a bit wrong. At Mirror Image, our bespoke wardrobes are built and installed by experts and come with a ten year guarantee. Hinged Wardrobe Doors
If you like to be able to see the entire contents of your wardrobe at once, then hinged doors will suit you best. In larger rooms where space is not at a premium, you can fling wide your hinged wardrobe doors and start planning that perfect party outfit.
Hinged wardrobe doors can be made to suit any interior design scheme. We particularly recommend them if you’re looking for a more traditional style – sliding wardrobe doors have a much more modern effect.
We can easily design wardrobes with hinged doors to fit the more awkward spaces in your property. They are not affected by sloping ceilings as we can angle the top of the door.
