We talk in many of our blogs about the endless design possibilities that are available with our furniture and it would be impossible for us to list every type of design we have produced. What we can say is that it does not matter whether you have a modern or traditional property, we are confident of being able to help you come up with a design that will blend seamlessly into its surroundings.
When it comes to our hinged wardrobe doors, one of the most popular designs we produce is the traditional Shaker, or as we call it - Cologne
The Traditional Shaker Style
The Shaker movement was a religious sect founded in England towards the end of the 18th century. Their guiding principles were simplicity, utility and honesty, and this was reflected in the style of their furniture.
The Shakers believed in well-made furniture of a minimalist design. Each piece was carefully produced, with functional form and proportion, and theywould incorporate creative solutions, such as asymmetrical drawer arrangements and wood handles.
Many of the founding principles of Shaker design have gone onto the form the inspiration for some of the finest designers of modern furniture and to this day the style remains an incredibly popular look.
