Fitted Bedroom Design Trends for 2017

Posted on 17/01/2017

Next week sees the opening of the first major interior design show of the year. Maison&Objet is the big Paris trade show, but it costs a whopping €60 to get in, plus your ticket on the Eurostar and hotel for the night, that’s not a cheap way to find out what’s hot in the world of fitted wardrobes. At Mirror Image Ltd, we’ve been making and selling bespoke furniture for over thirty years. Here’s what we’re expecting to be the fitted bedroom design trends for 2017.

Pale and Light

Mirror Image's Mitre range

Customers are going back to basics and shopping for pale colours that make a room look light and airy. Light shades of paint on the walls - greys and creams are popular - and paler woods and wood effects for the furniture. In our Mitre Range, which is available in many different wood colours, we expect to see this trend reflected with more people opting for paler woods such as Swiss Pear and Light Walnut.

Mirrors have remained a consistently popular feature on our bespoke wardrobes. People love looking at themselves and the extra light that a mirror brings to a room is in keeping with the trend for pale walls in well-lit rooms. Mirrored panels can be included on the inside or outside of doors. In keeping with this years trends, we expect to be including more exterior mirror panels in our wardrobe designs.

Solid Wood

Once again, we expect to be selling more of the paler woods available in our Solid Wood range. Fashion doesn’t have to dictate your choice though. The great thing about having bespoke bedroom furniture designed and fitted is that you get to choose the materials. There are as many different preferences as there are customers and we cater for everyone’s tastes.

Call into our Norwich or Cambridge showrooms and get an idea of what we can create for you. There are loads of different wardrobes and chest-of-drawers and other features on display there.
