How to Prepare for Your Mirror Image Fitted Furniture Installation

Posted on 15/04/2016

Before our installation team come round to install your Mirror Image fitted furniture, we’ll send you a letter in advance about how to prepare for your fitted furniture installation. This letter makes recommendations of the steps you can take before our visit to make sure your fitted furniture installation goes as smoothly as possible.

Let us know if there is any under floor heating or water pipes in the area we’re installing your fitted furniture in.

If there is, our team will take care that the installation doesn’t damage your heating system.

Tell us if you’re planning to decorate your room before the installation.

We’ll need to advise you on the timing of any decoration so that it doesn’t interrupt your installation.

Carry out any plumbing or electrical works before your installation.

There will be less risk of inconvenience and damage to your new fitted furniture if you have any work done before it is installed.

Fitted Furniture Installation

Roll back your carpets in the area your furniture will be installed, if possible.

We understand that this is not always possible, but we recommend it to ensure a precise fitting. Mirror Image will not remove or cut any carpets or existing flooring, or fit any carpet to the inside of a fitted wardrobe. If you plan to install any new flooring or carpet, you must do so after your fitted furniture has been installed.

Clear your room as much as possible.

We may be bringing large panels into your house. Remove pictures, ornaments, light shades, and as much furniture as possible (including the bed, if practical) from the room. Please also clear the stairway and hallway so our installation team have a clear access point. Mirror Image cannot be held responsible for any breakages.

Cover the furniture you can’t move with dust sheets.

Make sure the furniture you can’t move is protected from dust. Our fitters can help you move furniture if necessary.

Protect your floors our installation team will be walking across with dust sheets.

Our team must wear footwear for health and safety reasons, so we suggest that you protect the floors our fitters will be walking across – between your front door and the room your fitted furniture will be installed in – with additional dust sheets.

With these simple steps, you should be ready to have your fitted furniture installed with minimum disruption to you and your home. We’ll send you a letter with full details well in advance of your fitted furniture installation so you’ll have plenty of time to get ready, but you can also see a copy here.
