If you are considering bespoke furniture for your bedroom, you will be amazed at the number of design options that are available to you. When it comes to wardrobes especially, visitors to our showroom are often taken aback by the different styles and finishes that can be integrated into their design.
However before we even begin to consider the final design for their wardrobe, the first step is to establish whether a hinged or sliding door wardrobe is most appropriate. Both will add style, elegance and character to your room; but offer different benefits.
Hinged Door Wardrobes
- With a number of strong features available for you to choose from, including large handles, there are plenty of finishing touches that will transform your hinged door wardrobe into a real interior design feature.
- Unlike sliding door wardrobes, where in most instances half of the space will be concealed at any one time, all of the doors on a hinged wardrobe can be opened at once to allow for better access.
Sliding Door Wardrobes
- Where space is limited, a sliding door wardrobe may be the most appropriate. This style of wardrobe will require no additional space to accommodate open doors.
- Hinged door wardrobes are fitted with a plinth and infill to provide clearance from the floor and ceiling when the doors are opened. These are not required for a sliding door wardrobe and you will therefore benefit from additional storage space.
So to answer the question, both types of wardrobe offer a range of benefits and their suitability will depend entirely on your individual requirements or the limitations of your room. There is very little difference in terms of price between the two types of door and both can be supplied in a range of design finishes to suit your budget.
At Mirror Image we offer both styles of wardrobe in a range of design finishes, with all of our furniture produced from scratch by the skilled craftsmen at our Norwich factory. By coming into our showroom for an initial chat we can discuss the unique characteristics of your room and guide you towards a style and design that will maximise the space you have available.
