The Daily Mail recently ran a story on an incredible house that is up for sale in Norfolk. There are plenty of aristocratic homes in this royal county, but Shelton Hall is different. It was once home to the Princess Elizabeth – the daughter of Henry VIII who would go on to become the Virgin Queen – and her sister Princess Mary, remembered today as Bloody Mary, Queen of Scots.
A Moat and a Castle
Shelton Hall is not the actual house that the child princesses stayed in; sadly that burned down and was replaced with the current property in the 17th century. However, the grounds still feature the moat and the ruins of a castle that would have graced the property at the time of the princesses’ visit. If you have a cool £1.7 million, Shelton Hall can be yours.
Regal Wardrobes
Empty walls in large houses do produce an eerie echo. One way to counter that is to install floor to ceiling fitted furniture. Our made-to-measure wardrobes would grace a bedroom fit for a princess. Check out our Solid Wood range. These wardrobes are crafted using traditional woodworking techniques that have been handed down from joinery craftmasters that predate the Elizabethan era. You can choose between a variety of woods and finishes making your furnishings completely unique. A bespoke wardrobe is bound to impress the guests, even if they are not of royal lineage like those at Shelton Hall.
